Matte Lipsticks

Matte lipsticks will give any look a very elegant touch to it, however its very reaveling of any flaws you might have on your lips such as pealing skin and cracks. To avoid this, exfoliate your skin by mixing sugar, olive oil, and honey. Massage your mixture onto your lips for a few minutes, follow with a rinse and moisturise with a hydrating balm before applying your matte lipstick.

Finding the perfect shade

This wil be determined by your skin under tone, does your skin fall under cool or warm undertone?. Those with a undertone should learn towards lipsticks with purple undertones. A deep red will then be perfect for cool undertones. Warm undertones will generally need warm shades such as mauve-browns, red or orangey colours.

Mixing lipstick shades

When struggling to find a shade to compliment your skin tone, mix two different shades to create your own unique shade. This is a great way for putting those lipsticks you hardly ever use to good use. The perfect way for achieving this is by starting with a lighter shade then top if up with a darker one. Apply little at a time until you get the shade you desire.

Applying liner

A great way to ensure that your lipstick lasts longer is by applying a lip liner before hand. Use a liner that’s the same shade as your lipstick. Line the outline of your lip and fill them in, this will leave your lip looking neat and not bleeding, as make up artist’s would say.

Another formula to keep your lipstick in place is by blotting, this is an olden method, a favorite amongst our grandmothers, we still use it today beause it works like a charm. Apply one coat of lipstick, blott with a tissue then follow with a second coat, your lips will definitely look sleek.
