Tis the Season to be jolly, but be careful at parties and celebrations – your acquaintance may be waiting for the right time to spike your drink and rape you. It comes as a pill and when slipped into a drink, a dye in these pills makes clear liquids turn bright blue and dark drinks turn cloudy. The effects of Rohypnol can be felt within 30 minutes of being drugged and can last for several hours. GHB Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid (GHB) comes in various forms like a liquid form with no odour or colour, a white powder or a pill. It may give your drink a slightly salty taste. The effects are felt in about 15 minutes and can last 3 or 4 hours. It is very potent: A very small amount can have a big effect. So it is very easy to overdose on GHB. Ketamine Ketamine comes as a liquid or in a white powder form. Ketamine is a very fast acting drug. On this drug, you may be aware of what is happening to you, but you are unable to move or are temporarily paralysed. Ketamine also causes memory problems and you might not be able to remember what happened while you were drugged. Signs that your drink might have been spiked: * Feeling too drunk too soon after having a drink and not remembering what happed afterwards * You have not had any alcohol, but you feel drunk * Loss of muscle control * Difficulty with motor movements * Problems with speech * Nausea * Problems seeing * Dizziness * Loss of consciousness (black out) * You find that your clothes are torn or not on right. * You feel like you had sex, but you cannot remember it. Be vigilant and even going to the restrooms if you feel off, weird in anyway or unwell tell a friend you trust and go home. If you suspect that you have been drugged or been victim of date rape seek medical help and contact the police.
