Beauty benefits of peaches

Not only does the sweet, fluffy-skinned fruit taste delicious but it’s also a secret miracle-worker when it comes to keeping us looking our best.

With its levels of vitamin C, peaches are a great anti-ageing treat. The nutrient is a key ingredient in keeping our skin in great condition and giving it a natural glow, therefore tucking into the fruit on a regular basis will certainly help reduce any fine lines or wrinkles.

Furthermore the protein in peaches is a natural means of repairing any cuts or blemishes, and its antioxidants help flush out any nasties in your body and boost cell renewal, giving your skin a natural shine and cleaning your insides.

In addition, vitamins A and K, along with magnesium and selenium, can help protect the skin from ultraviolet rays (a.k.a. the sun).

Those who suffer dry, flaky complexions can put peach flesh to good use as a natural moisturiser. Mush the sweet flesh with natural yoghurt and apply to clean skin, leaving it on for a few minutes before rinsing with warm winter. Alternatively, simply rub the peach’s juices on your skin and allow to sink in before gently washing off.

The amount of overall nutrients also helps strengthen your hair as a natural steroid known as biotin is abundant in peaches. They reduce hair loss too, and you can either tuck into them or apply the fruit straight into your locks as a homemade hair mask. This treatment will cleanse your scalp too, getting rid of any dandruff or dry skin that’s lingering.

Pop peaches in a smoothie, on your cereal or add to a fruit salad whenever you can to really enjoy its perks!
