Comedy Central Roasts “Sushi King”

“The Roast” is back! And guess who’s in the hot seat this time?!
Here are a few clues:
- He’s known for being a reality show star, a larger than larger-than-life entrepreneur
- He’s had his brief moment in politics in the creation of the new EFF party
- He’s a party starter- most known for eating sushi off of naked ladies…
If it’s Kenny Kunene you’re thinking of, then you’ve guessed right!
The “Sushi King” will be back in the spotlight when he gets thrown into the furnace in Comedy Central’s Roast, which will be fired up by Nando’s.
Comedy Central Roasts are standout TV comedy events that feature famous names from the worlds of entertainment, media, business and celebrity. Roastees who have previously settled their posteriors on the infamous hot seat include Steve Hofmeyr, Donald Trump, Joan Rivers and Flava Flav. The Roast is filmed in front of a live audience where the Roastmaster will host the heat. This year’s Roastmaster is Jimmy Carr, British comedian and author of “comedy hero for our times.” The guests who will be dishing out the insults, also known as the Roasters, include socialite and World Cup choreographer, Somizi Mhlongo, TV presenter Dineo Ranaka and actress and tabloid queen Khanyi Mbau. The Roastee joins in the fun and gets the chance to counter his critics and has the final word at the end of the show. Speaking about his involvement in the Roast, Somizi Mhlongo said, “I have got nothing but lurrv for the ex-con!” while Dineo Ranaka showed signs of partiality for Roastee Kunene, saying, “Ag geez, Kenny!!! He is a rock star!” Slightly mystifyingly, Khanyi Mbau stated, “Sometimes good doesn’t need to be good. Sometimes bad is the good!”
Replied Kenny Kunene, “What a fabulous bunch of drama queens! I have mad love for all of them, but we'll see who's really gonna get roasted!"
See flames go up on 3 April 2014 at the Lyric Theatre, Gold Reef City, Johannesburg, and premieres exclusively on Comedy Central (DStv Channel 122) on Monday 28 April at 21:00 CAT.
