I had the great pleasure to experience a night at the Radisson Blu in Sandton, and a way to describe it would be one word- spectacular.
It is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a catch up with friends or romantic treat with your partner and enjoy good food and wine in pristine atmosphere at the Vivace Restaurant. I had the luxury of experiencing their four course special event menu this festive season.
The starter was lovely fresh locally smoked salmon served with compressed cucumber and saffron jelly, I totally enjoyed it and the presentation made it even more delicious.
A granadilla sorbet is served after which is just so refreshing and clears the palate beautifully for the main. The main which was Turkey, Duck and Chicken Roulade with brussle sprout puree and fragrant savoury rice was as paired with a dry red wine.
The desert I really enjoy, the chocolate and hazelnut cake with hazelnut mousse and orange chip was dry and felt it would have stated so much better if it were moist. But the chef was superb minus the desert. I had a chat with Joseph, and he boasted of the menu being created in 90 % in house.
The staff is friendly; they are always around to assist but doesn’t hover over you so they give you space and privacy to enjoy the city lights, views and conversations without feeling ‘watched’. I truly enjoyed my stay the décor and attention to detail scream luxe leisure.
