One of the people who added their voices to the fight against gender-based violence is journalist and broadcaster, Lerato Mbele-Roberts, who said, “It seems to me that the more successful women are becoming, the more violent some men are getting.”

It’s about time that men stopped resorting to violence and accept that women are powerful and capable beings. Crimes under the gender-based violence banner include emotional, sexual and physical abuse, as well as deprivation of basic needs such as healthcare and education.
