One style that is showing no sign of going away any time soon is the ponytail. But forget ethereal, loose styles – this season it’s all about the low, sleek pony.
“Ponytails have been a big story again on the catwalks this season and the favourite was the low, sleek pony,” celebrity hairstylist Andrew Collinge told Cover Media. “It's simple to achieve with the right products and the right preparation.”
Use Argan Oil while blow drying to inject some shine into the hair, before using a paddle brush to brush the hair into the nape of the neck and securing with a covered band.
“To make it look really special you could take some hair from the ponytail and wrap this round the band and pin to secure it,” he adds. “Finally if you have any flyaway hairs use a definer to smooth them down. This is a unique gel serum which will give great shine without being heavy or sticky.”
Francesco Group’s Director of Hairdressing, Anya Dellicompagni, adds that sleek ponytails aren’t for everyone, and those who are slightly apprehensive about going for a slicked-back look can give their hair some texture before putting into a ponytail.
