From decorative bobby pins, old school brooches to princess-like tiaras. This year, hair accessories are bigger and better!
- Brooches
Yes, brooches are back! And this time not as decor for your coat but as a head-turner. At Bottega Veneta and Alexander Mcqueen, brooches were placed artfully on a loose updo. The brooch encrusted alicebands at Dolce & Gabanna are drool worthy. Dare to DIY by attaching a hair grip to the back of a brooch, styling your hair as desired (we do love the look on a low ponytail) and attaching as desired. Voila!
- Tiaras
Whether it’s a crown fit for a queen or a tiara fit for a princess, aristocracy is the order of the day! Play them up for a whimsical fairytale look like the girls at Tommy Hilfiger or play them down for edgy rock princess ala the girls at Moschino. To style your tiara, tie hair up into a messy ponytail making sure to leave out strands of hair and voila!
- Bobby pins
Talk about a multi-tasking item, the bobby pin works to build a hairstyle, but can also accessorise it. At Erdem a floral bobby pin was used to hold back a fringe, multi coloured hair grips at Max Mara added a much-needed pop of colour and the geometric jewels at Fendi were a sight for sore eyes.
