We all love a bit of sparkle at Christmas, and there are a huge variety of ways you can add this to your make-up look.
But one of the most on-trend and effective ways to do this is to go for glossy eyelids. Whether you are going for a colourful approach to your festive look or a more neutral one, a touch of gloss is all you need to amp up the sexiness this holiday season. Read on for our tips on how to get glossy… not sticky! Runway shows earlier this year for designers Peter Pilotto and Iris van Herpen saw the models with relatively simple make-up, with just a sheen of gloss on their lids. If you want to follow this subtle approach to the look, grab a pot of Vaseline and gently smear onto the lid. It’s best to avoid the crease of the lid as much as possible, as this is where the most build-up can occur, but slather on the rest of the lid for a gently glamorous finish. If you are looking for a more party-ready look, then it’s worth adding some colour to your lids before the gloss. Apply an eyeshadow primer before going for your favourite shadow colour. We would recommend using a hue in a gel texture rather than a powder – it makes the finish all together glossier. Once you’ve got the perfect coverage, it’s time to add a layer of gloss. Again, you can use your Vaseline or another greasy balm to get the finished look. If you don’t want to invest in several beauty products, you could always go for an all-in-one eyeshadow that gives you a lovely, glossy finish. © Cover Media
