Found a sweet, loving guy but aren’t sure if he’ll be there for you when you need him? We help you figure out if he’s the one. Sometimes you don’t see love, even if it smacked you in the face... so the saying goes. But would you be able to see it? Relationships therapist and author of Is He Mr Right? Mira Kirshenbaum says that the one way you can tell if a man is with you for the right reasons, and is going to stay, is through chemistry. If you’re still unsure, though, there are ways that you can tell if your man is a keeper. He’s considerate He doesn’t just consider your feelings, but is all round considerate. A guy that loves you but fails to consider that you have responsibilities may be in denial about certain parts of life and is just immature. A considerate man will encourage you to finish your work early, so that you can spend time together later. Or even help you get through it if there’s too much work to do. Even with the household chores... doing it together means, finishing quicker than if you were doing it alone. He takes care of you Does your partner avoid you like the plague when you’re sick, or is he the one making you hot chicken soup and forces you to stay in bed? In a good relationship, partners care for each other’s well-being. If your boyfriend would rather sit at home and nurse you back to health instead of handing out with his friends, it shows that he cares about you and wouldn’t want you to suffer alone. He shares with you Sometimes you don’t need much, you just want a partner that can include you and share their worries and fears, and successes and triumphs. So it’s a great thing if your boyfriend is prepared to share these things with you and let you be there for him. He’s kind We all have our ways of knowing if someone is kind. It may be that he treats waitrons with respect when you’re out. Don’t ignore these random acts of kindness – they may be a glimpse into the type of person he is. If he can treat strangers with such kindness, he may treat you with kindness as well. He has your back His sister doesn’t like you and she’s turned his mother against you, but he continues to show you that he is on your side. It takes a strong man to be able to put his emotions aside and stand for the truth, even if it means not pleasing some people. A good guy will always defend you.
