Join Mya's 14-day vegan and vegetarian challenge


Singer Mya has launched a 14-day vegan challenge to encourage fans to join her and ditch meat.

The Fallen singer announced her mission on Instagram and she is hoping her fans will take the challenge and stick with it, as she did in 2014. She has been what she described last year as a "hardcore vegan" ever since.

She writes: "Join me for the #14Day #RawVegan #Vegan or #Vegetarian #Challenge! At the end of each quarter, I'll be treating the winner to a day of #vegan breakfast, lunch & dinner with me plus some amazing goodies."

She continues: "Get ready & tag me on your daily posts! You got this! For transition tips, grocery lists, info, inspiration and recipes visit &!"

Last year, Mya opened up about her drastic diet in an interview with, revealing, "I'm learning a lot as I go and I surround myself around other people that teach me all types of things and what I can possibly use or where to go."

She first went vegetarian as part of a six-month challenge in 2010 and then went vegan as part of another six-month challenge in 2014. She loved her new diet so much that she stuck with it.

"It's definitely helping me because I don't have to work out as hard... and I look better and feel better than I did a couple of years ago when I was not vegan."

She's not only committed to a meat and animal product-free diet, but a vegan lifestyle too.

"I'm not wearing leather shoes and I have not worn furs since a long time ago," she explains. "I have to be very conscious when I'm making decisions and saying I'm vegan because I have to be about it all the way."
