There’s a fairly new technique that is making waves and it’s called baking. And no – it’s not and not the kind you’re thinking about. Screen Shot 2017-03-23 at 12.45.08 PM This technique was made popular by drag queens. How it works it that you place translucent powder on strategic parts of your face for up to 10 minutes. This allows the warmth of your skin to set your concealer and foundation. You then sweep it off to reveal a flawless face beat. Here’s how to achieve this full-proof way of getting a perfect finish:

  1. Start by applying your foundation to create an even canvas, then follow with a concealer around the eye area until the apple of your cheeks using a damp beauty blender or make-up sponge. Let that layer settle for a couple of seconds and go over it again, making sure you blend, blend, blend!
  2. Here comes the fun part: it can get a little messy but the result is so worth it. Use a small powder brush to dust translucent powder over the concealer.
  3. You’re almost there; this is where the ‘baking’ takes place. Leave the powder to set for 10 minutes then dust off the excess powder with a soft powder brush.
Voila! You’re baked
