CURL YOUR LOCKS
Committing to dreadlocks won’t restrict your styling options, you just need to spend a little more time to get the desired look. It will be a challenge to get curls on thicker dreadlocks but it’s not impossible.
There are two methods – the easiest being braiding damp braids and undoing the braid once the hair is completely dry. This method will give you lush wavy curls.
The other option requires the following: perm rods, water spray, styling lotion, a dryer (preferably hood dryer) and sheen spray to give hair a glossy finish.
DIY
Going to salon to get your washed, treated and twisted is not always financially viable. Get the right products to do it yourself without giving up the salon-finish. Opt for a spray shampoo – this is super economical because you’re applying the product directly to the scalp.
Be smart when you twist your locks, only twist around the edges between salon visits. It’s so important to keep your hair and scalp moisturised to avoid flaking and dull locs.
