Following the recent launch of the Essence Festival Durban, sister event to the annual Essence Festival in New Orleans which includes South African artists Black Coffee, Thandiswa Mazwai & Lady Smith Black Mambazo; Grammy Award winning Singer and songwriter Neyo, Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams have all been added to the star studded line up. The Festival will include two music concerts on the 12 and 13 of November with the first night dedicated to the best hip hop talent on the continent including Award winning AKA & Casper Nyovest, Nigerian born Davido, Whiz Kid, Burna Boy and Riky Rick while and Afro-soul powerhouse Thandiswa Mazwai is set to entertain fans with an unforgettable music experience. The line-up also boasts house and kwaito music heavy weights including internationally acclaimed DJ Black Coffee, Tira, DJ Zinhle, Oskido, Biz Nuz and Babes Wodumo. The gospel stage promises to be a spiritually uplifting experience which will be led by Mary Mary, Yolanda Adams and South African bestselling gospel ensemble Joyous Celebration, Sfiso Ncwane, Dr Tumi, Thobeka, gospel powerhouse Hlengiwe Mhlaba & Ntokozo Mbambo and the legendary Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Free and open to the public, Essence Festival Durban will deliver an all-encompassing lifestyle and empowerment experience which will also include a Beauty and Style expo featuring designers from across the continent showcasing and selling their products. The Arts, Craft and Design pavilion will showcase some of the best visual arts South Africa and the African continent produces whilst all attending will also be treated to the different culinary tastes the festival has to offer. Essence Festival Durban will take place on the 8th to 13th November 2016 at the iconic Durban ICC and the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
