His breakthrough into the entertainment industry came last year after winning the second season of the BET reality competition, Top Actor Africa.

Many were shocked to see him as contestant and calling himself by his rapper name, J-Flo on Vuzu’s second season of The Hustle. Jesse says music has always been a passion and he secretly sought himself as a rapper. He studied sound engineering at the Academy of Sound Engineering after matric.

His major mainstream acting gig came when he starred as Tuelo – dubbed Officer Bae by Twitter on Mzansi Magic’s, The Queen. He played a policeman who also had a dark side to him as serial killer. Speaking to us he says playing a serial killer was something completely out of character for him and he struggled when he had to be violent with Amo (played by Natasha Thahane).

Before breaking fully into the entertainment industry, Jesse sustained himself financially by doing adverts including for: Sprite and Nivea (which are currently running), Samsung, KFC, Trace TV and more. He’s also had cameo roles on Generations and Ashes to Ashes.

He currently hosts entertainment and lifestyle show, BET A-List alongside, Nomzamo Mbatha, Nandi Mngoma, Jessica Nkosi and K Naomi.  He enjoys the platform and loves most the travelling aspect of the show.

He pleads with fans to be patient with his music, which he says he’ll release when ready.

He’s a gym addict and exercises Mondays – Saturdays. Sundays is rest and cheat day.
