After much speculation, Moflava was revealed as the Radio host who will taking over the drive time slot on Metro FM after Tbo Touch resigned last month. Moflava will be moving from his 8am-10am slot to drive time. He will be debuting his new show called Moflava on The Drive at 3pm -6pm on Metro FM today. We caught up with him to talk about what radio listeners can expect on the new show. How he feels about changing slots from a morning show to an afternoon show? I am extremely excited to be changing slots and feel that this is the kind of growth that most people work towards, but never know when the time will come. So its important to actively prepare for the opportunity when it arrives. On the big shoes he has to fill and if he was nervous about being back on a Drive time show Well...Nerves are not a hinderance, if anything its more like a centre of exhilaration. Ill refer to the Maslow hierarchy of needs of reaching a stage of self actualisation and I feel that I have reached this level in my career. More importantly, Its a new chapter and the opportunity that I am most looking forward to. Was it an easy decision to make when he was presented with the offer? I had a lot to think about when it came to making the decision of accepting the offer considering I had offers from other radio stations. You have to think about this before jumping into the anything in order to make an informed decision. My decision was informed by wether I thought I was ready for this new slot, Whether I had the capabilities and whether I believed the slot would bring out the best in me. In this case I needed to consider all these factors before I made my final decision. What kind of reception he is expecting? I am obviously expecting a mixed bag of emotions, Some people might be unhappy because they are used to something else, whilst others might be happy because they feel whatever happens going forward will be good for them. Change is something I am very familiar with because when I joined Metro FM it was a new slot altogether, it was a new time channel and some people didn't know what to expect however the numbers spoke for themselves in terms of how well the show did, so I am confident and optimistic about the reception of the new show. What we can expect from Moflava on the Drive? The show is all about drive and it is ultimately about what drives you on a daily basis. Drive is an energy. Its about desire, belief, confidence, ambition, so everything we do on the show will speak to the current generation of millennials which we represent. A generation of young people who are very driven. You can catch Moflava on The Drive on Metro Fm every weekday from 3pm-6pm.
