Money tips that’ll see you through the month

accreditation

January is most challenging month for most of us who overspent overspending during the festive season. Next week we’ll be back to work and there’s pressure as kids are also going back to school. But don’t worry as we’ve compiled a few tips on how to get by this month and come out wise:

  1. Budget wise: Start by listing the items that you’ll need for the week. Then divide your category limits for each week. like grocery shopping, perishables such as fruit and vegetables, transport money. Then work out the budget for that week. Continue doing so until you get paid.
Tip: You could also use this strategy to budget for the year. ?   Join a lift club: Save travel costs, organise three of your colleagues that leave in your neighbourhood so that you all travel on one car. Alternate that each one of you uses their car every week and pours petrol. This will make sure that you only put petrol for one week through out the month. ?   Lunchtime classics: Pack a healthy lunch from home and avoid spending money you don’t have. ?   Be creative. Make some of your favourite pizzas and hamburgers at home, instead of buying takeaways or going to a restaurant. ?   Live your life to the fullest: If you are big on socialising and can't imagine your life without a good time with friends, then invite them over to your house and ask each one of them to contribute a dish or bring a bottle for wine.
