More sex can ward off cancer for men

Most men don’t need an excuse to have more sex, but if any guys out there are after a comeback to “not tonight darling, I’ve got a headache”, then tell your other half male orgasms can stave off prostate cancer.

Researchers from Harvard University found that getting some boudoir action 21 times a month can help the prostate flush out toxins, which keeps the semen-producing gland healthy and helps men avoid cancer.

Gathering data from 32,000 men, it was found ejaculating on a regular basis cuts the risk of developing the cancer by 33 per cent.

In the U.K.. prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with over 40,000 new cases diagnosed every year. As it develops slowly, many men don’t realise they have it until the disease has progressed.

The study has been published in journal of European Urology, with researchers commenting on their findings.

“These findings provide additional evidence of a beneficial role of more frequent ejaculation throughout adult life in the etiology of prostate cancer, particularly for low-risk disease,” they wrote.

“We found that men reporting higher compared to lower ejaculatory frequency in adulthood were less likely to be subsequently diagnosed with prostate cancer.”

While it’s unclear why 21 orgasms a month, or 252 a year, is so beneficial to men, researchers suggested an active sex life may be an indicator of good health, which in turn lowers the risk of cancer. So it’s important to make sure you’re eating a balanced diet and getting enough exercise into your daily routine.
