Smoked snoek mayo snackwich Serves: 3 INGREDIENTS 6 slices brown bread, crusts removed if desired? 1 piece (150 g) smoked snoek, flaked and bones removed 60 ml (1/4 c) mayonnaise? 60 ml (1/4 c) grated Cheddar cheese? 15 ml (1 T) chopped parsley (optional) METHOD 1. Heat the Snackwich machine.? 2. Put the slices of bread on a flat surface.? 3. Mix the snoek, mayonnaise, cheese and parsley to make a moist filling.? 4. Divide the filling among 3 of the slices of bread and cover with the remaining 3 slices, pressing down firmly.? 5. Put the sandwiches in the Snackwich, close it, and toast the bread until brown on the outside and the cheese has melted. Halve each sandwich and serve with? tomatoes if desired.
Pastrami and swiss cheese Serves: 4 INGREDIENTS 8 slices bread of your choice 60g butter, softened? 250g pastrami, sliced? 200g Swiss cheese, sliced 1/2 cup sauerkraut, at room temperature 3 tbsp grainy mustard? Sea salt and black pepper? Crisps, to serve METHOD
- Spread butter on to both sides of each slice of bread. Layer the pastrami and cheese slices on four slices. Top with sauerkraut and mustard and season. Cover the sandwiches with the remaining bread slices. ?
- Heat a griddle pan. Cook sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side, pressing down with a spatula. Halve sandwiches and serve with crisps. ?
