Try these answers and watch them die of shame.
  • It’s not my life’s goal to get married. There are so many other things I’m doing with my life that marriage is the last thing I think about. But, I will sure let you know should I decide to get married.
  • Oh… with such a high divorce rate, I may as well just save myself from the heartache that the institution comes with. I really feel for many married couples because anticipating that ‘conscious uncoupling’ must be sad.
  • There’s so much to discover in this world that I really don’t want to be tied down. And right now I’m just enjoying exploring the world, learning about other cultures and growing spiritualy. Better do it now when I’m still young than when I’m old and frail. By the way, you are going to Rio for the Olypmics, right? We should totally hook up when we’re there.
  • Like Oprah, and Shonda Rhymes, I can have everything I want without being married to someone. I can have a long lasting companionship, kids and every perk that comes with marriage, without tying the knot with someone. I find that freeing in a way, because I don’t have to report to anyone. And I’m so sorry you had to decline that amazing job offer because your hubby refuses to move to another province.
  • I’m now a director in my department, and I’m focused on getting the CEO position. So, I’d like to focus on my career, and make some money right now, especially now that I’m thinking of buying a holiday home in Cape Town.
  • There are lot of abusers, cheaters, and immature and irresponsible guys out there that I’d rather wait a little longer to meet the right guy for me. He has to be someone that really makes me happy.
  • It’ll be fun to walk down the isle and feel like a Princess for a day. But, marriage is much more than a wedding day. I’m doing me right now, and am growing spiritually. But the door is always open for the right man.
  • Funny you asked. I’ve been in an amazing long term relationship. My partner has actually asked me to marry him, I said no. I’m just not ready right now, and he has no problem waiting.
  • Probably when my boyfriend proposes. Ask HIM, maybe he can fill you in.
  • When you buy a house, or have a baby or finish your Phd… (or anything they want but don’t have will shut ‘em up)
  • Let’s talk about you Missy. When are you getting married? Ohhh…don’t tell me. You’re angaged! Wow, I’m so happy for you. I would love to help you plan the wedding.
