Bakubung Bush Lodge amongst many other lodges like Kwa-Maritane form part of Legacy Hotels and Resorts. They offer a wide range of activities including spa treatments.
The spa manager of Bakubung Bush Lodge Spa, Berenice Coetzer says the establish is doing well for a new development.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed with soothing sounds and a fresh breeze. The doors in the massage rooms are all wide open so you get to take the scenery all in in its glory. It feels like you’re a part of nature with the sounds of the chirping birds and the crisp air coming in.
We received a neck and back massage for 45 minutes by fully qualified and well-trained therapists.
Their uniquness as a spa business is that their massages are named after the Pilanesburg bush experience and the Bakubung Bush lodge.
- The place of the hippo
It’s a deep tissue massage that uses an aroma deep tissue oil to get deep in the muscles. It helps with releasing soreness from most muscles. Apparently it’s a favourite amongst their male clientele.
- The place of the rhino
This is a nourishing massage. They mainly use shea butter for its calming and nourishing properties on the skin, hence it’s a favourite among women.
- The place of the rock
This is a body exfoliating treatment where they remove dead skin cells in preparation for the second phase, being the massage. They use coconut oil and a triangular wooden tool for this particular massage which works perfectly at targetting pressure points.
Bakubung Bush Lodge is a perfect escape from the busy hustle of Johannesburg. You get in touch with nature by going on amazing game drives, game walks, and enjoy a delicious boma braai. We sure got a full bush experience.
