Author of Love Sex Again Dr Steicher says you’re free to go H.A.M on the first trimester. Use sex toys if you want. If you’re tired of exploring, missionary is still fine.

Woman on top

In this position the woman is in full control. He’s at the bottom and you’re on top with your legs apart facing him. You get to pace yourself to a point where you feel comfortable enough. Use this during the scond trimester as you don’t want too much pressure on your stomach.

This places no weight on you as you’re both lying side by side with him behind you. It’s considered the laziest style but hey, you’re still getting some. The penetration is shallow and doesn’t put pressure on your belly. Take it slow and enjoy the ride.

Doggy style

First you need to find comfort for your knees. Kneel over a chair, sofa, or bed, whatever works for you. He will then enter you from behind. Author of The insider’s guide to pregnancy and childbirth, Dr Brown says some women don’t like the feeling of deep penetration during pregnancy. Discuss this with your partner and reach an understanding on how deep he can go.

Reverse cowgirl

It’s similar to women on top but this time you’re facing the opposite direction. Doctors advise against lying on your back during pregancy so this position is perfect for controlling the angle in which you want and how deep you want, with zero pressure on your back and belly.

Be adventurous and get outside the bedroom. Let him sit on a chair, preferably one with a low shoulder-height and ride him from there facing the opposite direction. Ask him to caress your back as you’re doing it.
