If you’re having an outdoor wedding this spring you should definitely style your hair accordingly. You don’t have to pick a complicated do either as some are so simple, and you can create them yourself. Here are a couple of ideas for gorgeous summer ceremony hair styles. Twisted bun Screen Shot 2016-08-11 at 4.30.06 PM This classic is perfect to keep the hair off your neck when in the heat, and will show off your dress if you have a statement back.

  • Begin with textured hair, then split it into two sections and tie them into a knot (think of how you start to tie your shoelaces).
  • Face the left section up, using bobby pins to secure up towards the ends, then take your right section and twist it up to the left, pinning down too. You’ll notice the round shape form.
  • Secure any strays with spray or pins.
Pinned up French braid Screen Shot 2016-08-11 at 4.29.34 PM   This requires a little more concentration, though if you’re an expert on braiding then you’ll be fine. It stays neat and tidy all day long and can be accessorised too.
  • Pin back the front of your hair to start, adding a little volume if you can.
  • Then, take medium sections of hair from each side of your hairline and gather into a twist at the back of your head, then twist that section around your finger into a bun and secure.
  • Continue for however many buns you want at the back of your head (depending on how thick your hair is) and ensure slides are used to keep things in place!
Hollywood waves Screen Shot 2016-08-11 at 3.45.57 PM Your hair can make a statement of its own on your wedding day so why not leave it down? Waves are great for all hair types if done right.
  • Section your hair from left temple to right and secure with clips, creating a diagonal line at the back of your head.
  • Separate your hair and use a small curling wand on sections, wrapping your hair horizontally from the bottom to the top.
  • Repeat in the same way for each area of hair until you’re left with a head of ringlets.
  • Let your hair cool a little, then gently brush them downwards and where the dents are, section them with clips to give definition.
  • Set with hairspray, remove the clips and admire the waves!
