1. Abdul Khoza’s nuptials

Abdul Khoza wed his girlfriend, Baatile Themane, in a traditional ceremony. The Isibaya actor announced their engagement in an interview on Trending SA in August 2018. He also revealed how he met the love of his life in the parking lot. “I met her at a mall...I saw her right there and then, she was actually struggling for parking ... so the first genuine thing I did was to find her parking, cause she kept driving around and I was like: ‘I got you a spot...’ Abdul’s brother SK and Isibaya cast mates S’dumo Mtshali, Pallance Dladla and Melusi Mbele attended the nuptials.

2.     Idris Elba and Sabrina Dhowres tie the knot

British actor, Idris Elba tied the knot with Canadian model girlfriend Sabrina Dhowres in a three-day ceremony at the Ksar Char-Bagh hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco. Sabrina wore a custom-made Vera Wang gown, while Idris wore a bespoke suit by Ozwald Boateng. Christian Louboutin danced along with the Nigerian superstar, Davido, when he gave a surprise performance at the wedding. Elba proposed to Dhowre during the screening of his film, Yardie, at the Rio Cinema in Dalston, east London in February 2018. They had reportedly been dating since early 2017.


3.     Kim Kardashian’s baby shower

The reality star held a baby shower at her home for the pending birth of her fourth child with Kanye West, via surrogate. The baby shower was all about relaxation as it included a sound bath (an immersion in beautiful sounds and vibrations), Yeezy slides, meditation and CBD (cannabidiol). “Let’s zen out for a Saturday,” she said, surrounded by guests stretched out on yoga mats. “So everyone have a puff and put on some oil.” Some of her guests included Chrissy Teigen, sister Kourtney Kardashian, Paris Hilton, daughter North West and niece Penelope Disick. They were also invited to suggest names on the wall. The expected baby will be the second boy for them, joining North, 5; Saint, 3, and Chicago, 1.

4.     Boity Thulo turned 29

Boity Thulo celebrated her 29th birthday with a dinner at Saxon Hotel and a tour at clubs throughout the weekend. She also showed herself some self-love by posting a picture showcasing how snatched she is in a white leotard captioned, “I am profoundly proud of the woman you have become.” Her proud mamma also posted a heart-warming message on Twitter and said the journey of being a mom is special, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, QUEEN!! I am profoundly proud of the woman you have become! ????????????????????????????????????????????????????? #Hello29#OwnYourThrone??”. Celebs, including Bonang Matheba, Gail Mabalane and Nandi Madida also wished the star a happy birthday.


5.     Friends remember Akhumzi Jezile

The TV presenter, producer and Safta-winning actor Akhumzi Jezile, was remembered this past weekend by friends, family and fans on the first anniversary of his passing.  A car accident near Queenstown on 28 April 2018 claimed his life, along with his friends, actress and singer Siyasanga Kobese and actor Thobani Mseleni. “I want you to make a pledge, to make smarter road choices and remember the people you love, and remember my child who is no longer with us,”  said Akhumzi’s mother Zoleka Jezile, and the Akhumzi Jezile Foundation, on Twitter, to raise road-safety awareness.
