Beyoncé released an official picture of her twins Sir and Rumi Carter and yes the buzz was the twins, but after that, it became all about how she is looking great with a flat midsection a month after having twins.
So what is the obsession with a flat stomach after having a baby?
Actress and media personality Ntando Duma also posted a picture of herself with a flat tummy just 2 weeks after giving birth to her daughter Sbahle.
According to Baby Center, it takes up to 6 weeks for the uterus to get back to normal size. “From the moment your baby is born, hormonal changes cause your uterus to contract, shrinking it back to its pre-pregnancy state. It takes six to eight weeks for your uterus to return to its normal size.”
Then there is the case of stretch marks from the stretch and changes that your body goes through, which is said to up to 6 to 12 months to reduce in visibility.
Realistically, it can take months post birth to get that tummy flat again. But, everybody does differ and no one is the same. So unless you got a Beyoncé team backing you, don’t stress about it.
