Though at the recent London premiere of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, it wasn’t just the super star’s red Giambattista Valli gown that had fashion fans talking, but her gorgeous beauty look too.

Rihanna’s make-up artist used products from her upcoming cosmetics line Fenty Beauty, however, her dewy skin can be recreated by following a few simple steps.

First of all, professional make-up artist Nigit Begum explains that she would start by applying a good quality primer, such as Benefit POREfessional Face Primer, and then dab on some enriched foundation to balance out any dark circles or redness.

To emulate Rihanna’s plum-hued smoky eye, Nigit would start by applying Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion, and once the base is in place, sweep a light brown or taupe eyeshadow over the eye and towards the brow bone.

“Then choose a deep purple-brown eyeshadow, such as bareMinerals Shimmer Eyeshadow in Celestine, and gently brush over the eyelid and just above the crease,” she told Cover Media. “To add extra drama to the eyes, add a touch of glittery gold or rose gold eyeshadow – like those found in Huda Beauty’s Textured Shadows Palette - Rose Gold Edition.”

Next, line the eyes using a black kohl pencil and lengthen the lashes by applying at least two coats of Kevyn Aucoin’s The Volume Mascara.

To fully recreate Rihanna’s look, opt for a cool red lipstick shade. First of all, line the lips with MAC’s Lip Pencil in Half Red, a soft burgundy shade.

“Then take a deep red lipstick, like Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution lipstick in Bond Girl. This is a great berry red and not only suits Rihanna, but pretty much any skin tone. To get a perfect application, apply using a small, flat lip brush.”
