What influenced the idea of filling up venues?
I did this for my national pride. For the longest time South African artists had been opening for international acts where we weren’t treated with the respect we deserved. So this is why I decided to come up with my own concept and name it #FillUp. I’m in awe of the support I’ve been getting, not only from South Africa but the world at large.
How are the preps going for the show?
Everything is going well, but as you can imagine, it’s hectic. I don’t think people understand the amount of hard work, money and planning that goes into preparing for a show. With that said, I’m really excited for the 2nd of December.
What can your fans look forward to?
A world class show is what they can expect. Everything from the performances to the actual stage itself.
Will there be any surprises?
There’s never been a #FillUp show without any surprises, so definitely expect the unexpected.
Will you be filling up other venues in future?
This is the last in Johannesburg, but I’m definitely looking into moving around major cities like Durban, Capetown or Polokwane. A lot of my fans have been asking that I come to their home towns so I will be filling up venues around Africa.
Any last words to your supporters?
This is going to be an experience of a lifetime so make sure you go buy your ticket. Don’t wait to be told of how the show was, come and experience it yourself. I’m looking forward to performing for you guys and thank you to those who’ve already bought their tickets.
