Bonang Matheba relaunches book

Bonang From A to B was relaunched on Thursday night at the Mall of Africa in Johannesburg. Infamous for its grammatical and factual errors, the first edition was pulled off shelves. This time around the book has also removed segments on former bestie, Somizi Mhlongo and ex-boyfriend, Euphonik because it was previously written that Bonang broke off her friendship with SomGaga because he befriended her ex, who she claims was abusive towards her.


Jacaranda FM listeners accuse Tumi Morake of racist comments

Earlier this week on the station’s breakfast show, which Tumi co-hosts with Martin Bester, the pair discussed musician, Steve Hofmeyr’s show which was recently cancelled in New Zealand. Tumi made note that South Africa’s history on apartheid.

“You cannot claim to love a country if you do not love the people in it. You broke down a people on skin colour before you build them up. You are now saying they must just share with everybody and be friends with everybody,” Morake said on the show.

Some listeners expressed their dissatisfaction with Tumi’s comments saying she implied white people should be punished.

The station’s general manager Kevin Fine responded saying:

"Jacaranda FM is part of the richly diverse community of South Africa and we are committed to being a home for fun, music, entertainment, sharing of information, and the sharing of views. As with any home, sometimes these conversations and views can be uncomfortable. But, for as long as they are necessary, we will always be a place where they can live."

Tropika Island of Treasure announces celebrity participants

Earlier this month, it was announced that the eighth season of Tropika Island of Treasure will be in Maldives. It will be hosted by Katlego Maboe.  The show revealed its seven celebrity line-up, which includes Khanya Mkangisa, Sbahle Mpisane, Brendan Peyper, Karabo Mogane, Tumi Voster, Nay Maps and Melinda Bam.

Rhythm City to play tribute episode to Dumi Masilela

The soapie’s producers will be incorporating Dumi Masilela’s passing into their storyline. This will be done to honour the late actor.  

Dumi was shot in a suspected hijacking in Tembisa township in August and died in hospital. The episode will air in October.
