How did the role of Linda Ndlovu come about and what was your reaction to it?

My agent sent me a brief to audition for the role. I auditioned about five times before bagging the gig.

What intrigued you about your character?

The trials and tribulations she endures throughout the story, the hardships and the need to come out victorious fascinated me. I was very intrigued by the entire script and would’ve been hurt had I not landed this gig.

What was the most challenging aspect about portraying Linda?

She goes through so many hardships that it becomes difficult not to carry them with you once the director yells ‘cut!’. The character forced me to reflect on my own hardships and perhaps even confront them for the very first time.

What can viewers expect from The Housekeepers? What makes the show different?

The cast and crew worked really hard to make this production great. Everyone had their hearts in it, and we can only hope that it is reflected in the final product.

Any last words about your ‘make-under’ role?

I can’t begin to describe how much it has changed my life. I worked with the best actors and actresses in SA, as well as the best directors, director of photography and production crew. It’s a journey I will forever look back on with great joy.

The Housekeepers premieres on 8 October at 8pm on Mzansi Magic.
