Have a playlist
This doesn’t limit you to one type of genre. Your playlist could include old school love jams, house music that you both enjoy dancing to or gospel songs that lifts up your mood. If you don’t have one of these we suggest you get right on it.
Find ‘your place’
Have you ever heard other couples refer to certain restaurants or historic sites such as museums as ‘their place’? This becomes your own little spot you consider your own and no matter what, you never want to go there with anyone else but your man.
Have a double date
You need to have that one couple that you can always do fun things with like going on vacation, have sundowners on a Friday or a couple’s braai date. These are people you trust and you know no matter what they’ll always be there to support you.
Create your own lingo
It’s always fun using phrases that only the two of you understand, because well, it’s not anyone else’s business. While others might look at you like you’re crazy, you’ll be having the most fun with your man.
Picture this: beautiful weather, shorts, sunglasses, a jam-packed playlist and a road trip with your favourite person? Perfection, right? Moments such as taking pictures, getting lost, and stopping to get some nibbles make for great memories that’ll last you a lifetime.
Having weekly date nights
With the busy lives many of us lead, it can be difficult to set aside time for your loved one. This is where date nights come in. Establishing this tradition and actually sticking to it will keep your romance alive.
Make a vision board
Write down everything you wish to accomplish both as a couple and as individuals and hang it where you’ll see it. It’ll help you succeed as a couple and track your progress. When you reflect on your progress at the end of each year, the board will come in handy.
