Decisions your partner should never make for you

When to have children

This is a big step to take and should never be imposed on anyone. Never mind the fact that you have to carry the child, you still have to raise, support and care for the child. If for whatever reason you feel you’re not ready, your partner shouldn’t force you to.

Who to be friends with

If your friends aren’t in any way negatively affecting your relationship your man has no business telling you to cut them off. This is a form of dictatorship and isn’t allowed in relationships. Should he feel as though he doesn’t like your friends then the solution is for him to avoid any form of interaction with them.

Your career path

Your partner can give his input when it comes to your career. he can’t tell you what to choose or when to quit though. We choose careers based on different reasons and if he can’t support you then he might not be the man you want to spend your life with.

What you spend on

If you aren’t married or equally combining all income, then what you spend your hard-earned money shouldn’t be a problem for him. Unless you’re on the verge of getting yourself into debt you’re free to buy whatever you can afford.

Using or being off the pill

For some weird reason, some men feel the need to decide when and when not their partners should take contraceptives. Unless you’ve sat down and decided that you’re trying for a baby continue popping that pill. Being on the pill is a personal choice, no one is allowed to decide this on your behalf.

What your body looks like

The only person who has the liberty to talk negatively and modify your body is you, nobody else. A man who respects and loves you for who you are will never put you under pressure to look a certain way. Deciding to lose or gain weight is something that needs to come from you, not because your partner thinks so.
