When he’s acting out of character
You know your man and what his common behaviour is like. Should you spot any sudden change in behavior like unnecessary anxiety, that’s cue for you to start investigating.
What to ask:The perfect starting point is finding out how his day was. If he isn’t lying then he should be able to this with ease, but if not he’ll have to think hard about it.
Be ware of nervous gestures
Under normal circumstances your partner shouldn’t make you nervous and vice versa. Unusual gestures like clearing his throat or sturtaring when talking should give you a hint that something is definitely wrong.
What to ask: Keep probing him with questions. You want to see if the nervousness gets worse or not.
Omitting details
It’s quiet difficult to spot a lie if you’re a hearing something for the first time. However, if you have particular suspicions about the story he told you, ask him over and over again. Chances are the stories aren’t going correlate and that’s where you catch him.
What to ask: Ensure that the questions you ask aren’t the same. Twist them in such a way that he doesn’t catch that you’re fishing for something. You don’t want him thinking you don’t trust him in case he’s really being honest.
Covering his tracks
An honest man will never feel the need to cover his tracks. Things like deleting his browsing history, to his call log are red flags and you should definitely be worried.
He’s always in defence mode
Nothing is ever a casual question to him, he thinks you’re always out to accuse him of something. There’s probably something he’s hiding and his reaction is expected because he feels as though you can see through him.
