Sugar causes vaginal dryness

According to US National Institution of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidneys, high sugar levels can lead to vaginal dryness. This doesn’t only decrease pleasure, but can also make intercourse painful. Lower your sugar intake and enjoy more pleasurable sex.

Sugar affects your feel good hormones

Levels of dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins are altered by sugar intake. According to an article published on Medical Daily, these hormones play an essential role in your sex life. These hormones also help to maintain healthy mood levels; irregular levels can cause depression, which further damages sexual function.

Sugar kills testosterone

Insulin resistance drives down testosterone in both men and women. A new study from the Brady Urological Institute at Johns Hopkins suggests an over-supply of sugar to the bloodstream could be a major cause of erectile dysfunction.

Sugar affects energy levels

High intake of sugar results in feeling tired, and your sex drive is negatively affected. You need good energy to have a healthy sex drive. If your body is low on energy, you’re not going to be up for sex.

Excess sugar turns to fat

According to research published on Science Daily, the production of excess fat forces your liver to turn off sex hormone-binding globulin (shbg).  SHBG produces a protein. Estrogen and testosterone need that protein to function. Your sex drive is heavily influenced by estrogen and testosterone, and if SHBG isn’t functioning properly, estrogen and testosterone stop working as well. This can cause a loss of sex drive, infertility, erectile dysfunction and shrink testicular size
