Let's talk investments at the #JSESheInvests event

JSE She Invests
JSE She Invests

Taking place on 10 August 2019, She Invests is an investment education and lifestyle event. As per the theme of the event, the JSE will be bringing together women to share wisdom, support each other, and have fun together.

The event also encourages women to invest in themselves by actively participating in initiatives to help them grow their financial wealth. It is an interactive day that will include keynote speakers, investment education sessions, food, champagne and lifestyle activities, such as a spa corner.

Gender equality, with a specific focus on women empowerment, has become a global trend and focus. However, investment literacy still lags behind. Women often shy away from investments due to a lack of knowledge. They also feel a bigger sense of responsibility towards their families and spend money on them.

The JSE’s continued engagement with women and research indicate that women are highly engaged with investor communication. However, this doesn’t necessarily translate into a decision to invest. Some of the biggest stumbling blocks for women are education, ease of access and most importantly, they want to feel confident in their investment choices.

She Invests is a movement to create a holistic approach that tackles investment in a unique way in order to make it accessible, easy to understand and fun.

The aim is to empower, educate and inspire women and support them on their journey of self-investment.
