TRUE LOVE and 4th STREET recently hosted a fun-filled day at HTA School of Culinary Art in Johannesburg. TL editor, Mbali Soga, welcomed readers and promised them a special event filled with lots of surprises. 4th STREET brand manager, Irmie Marman, spoke about the brand and explained how wine can go from sweet or dry to complex and quirky when infused into a cocktail. Who would have thought?

Tumelo Mushi-Sebopa took to the stage and talked about her journey as a TL food editor and what street food meant to her while growing up in the township. She promised to share expert tips on how to prepare some of Mzansi’s take-out favourites.

A mixologist kicked off the festivities with a citrus-infused cocktail using 4th STREET sweet wine. Guests also got a chance of mixing their own delectable drinks. Then it was time to hit the kitchen. Tumelo, together with the HTA School of Culinary Art chefs, revealed the menu of the day comprising of marinated boerewors rolls, a kota and Asian-inspired chicken. The mood was set and the ladies began cooking!

Readers got a chance to interact with chefs and ask questions, as well as win amazing prizes. At the end of the cooking tutorial, guests got to enjoy the fruits of their labour and another cocktail. This time, it was a coffee-infused cocktail created by using 4th STREET Sweet Red wine. A lucky reader won a 4th STREET cocktail making kit, while others walked away with amazing goodie bags!
