Banish that spot before a date!

But what’s this, a last minute addition to your plans in the form of a spot deciding to tag along? We don’t think so!

If you sense a pimple is on the way, heat is a great and simple way to bring the nasties to the surface without pressing your fingers to the area and squeezing. Either fill your sink with hot water and hover over it for a few minutes with a towel keeping the steam in or press a warm to hot cotton wool pad to the pimple. Once things start to appear, turn to your go-to spot treatment and apply, then leave for the recommended time on the packaging and let the product work its magic.

Alternatively, ice or something very cold will also help in that it will reduce swelling in the affected area. Wrap a cube in a paper towel and hold it to the spot, then hopefully it should go down within a few hours.

To avoid any oozing you’ll want to dry the spot out, which can be done using something like a slice of lemon. Not only will the citrus fruit leaving you smelling fresh but it will also remove excess oils and reduce any inflammation pretty speedily.

Toothpaste also does this, but we’d recommend applying a small amount while you’re at home as it’s not a look you can pull off out and about!

To cool and relieve the area press something cool like cucumber on it, which is a great source of vitamin C to stimulate and brighten the area. Or you can mash up the flesh of the green vegetable and apply it as a face mask if you have time on your hands, then rinse off after 15 minutes for a fresh and clean finish.

There’s absolutely no harm in covering it up using cosmetics when it comes to preparing for the date itself as if it’s still noticeable you don’t want to be paranoid the whole time! But we don’t recommend going heavy with the make-up as this will only irritate it more.

Whatever you do, don’t go and pop that menacing mark on your face as you’ll only be left with a scar that will be hider to cover up afterwards.
