Farewell Tshepo

BLURB: 39 year old South African actor Tshepo Ngwane has died. By Zamahlasela Gabela The devastating news about the death of beloved South African actor, Tshepo Ngwane has left many shocked and devastated. Bomb Productions film producer Kutlwano Ditsele broke the news on twitter on Tuesday night when he tweeted, “Rest in Peace to actor Tshepo Ngwane who was best known for his roles of Thiza in YizoYizo and Dr Mdu in Zone 14. Mat his soul rest in peace.” The news came as a surprise to his fans who were unaware that he had been bed ridden and hospitalised for two weeks before his death. Ngwane was born in the small town of Ermelo in Mpumalanga but completed his matric certificate at Ziphakamiseni High School in Newcastle. Despite his love for online casino acting from the very beginning, his father wasn’t convinced about the career path so he went to Wits Technikon to pursue and receive a National Diploma in Retail Management. Although he’d gotten this qualification, acting was still an avenue he wanted to pursue so when an opportunity came for him to do a crash course with veteran actress Lillian Dube he grabbed it with both hands. The 39 year old’s first prominent debut into television was a 6 month contract on Backstage in 2001, but it was undeniably the role of Thiza on Yizo Yizo that put his star on the map. He starred in every one of the three seasons that the show was broadcast on SABC 1. He then went on to land the role of Dr Mdu Sibiya on Zone 14 which was a role that also lasted for three seasons. Ngwane also appeared in popular South African feature films Finding Lenny and Jerusalema. Rest in peace Tshepo, we will remember you forever.
