Global Citizen concert – a bittersweet experience

To say the #GlobalCitizenSA concert was lit, would be an understatement.  Everybody who attended the event, held at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, agreed that it was a spectacular show.

Mzansi artists Cassper Nyovest and Sho Madjozi were the highlights of the day – they brought their A-game to the stage!  

Obviously, everyone was there to see Beyoncé and Jay Z, who shut down the night in true superstar fashion. The power couple served looks and high energy, ensuring that the audience got the full On The Run II tour experience.

Queen B’s breathtaking outfit changes deserve a mention – especially the multi-coloured bead ensemble.

However, things took a sour turn immediately after the concert when people were heading home. Twitter was buzzing with reports of crime and violence, leaving many fearing for their lives. Uber is reported to have crashed, busses that shuttled people to and from the stadium were full and traffic was a nightmare. Using the hashtag #Sasol, many took to Twitter to share their horrifying experiences:
