Man Crush Monday: Shane Eagle

accreditation

You might remember Shane Eagle from VUZU AMP"s popular hip hop contest, The Hustle. Besides for spitting dope bars (he has just released his single, Way Up ft Big Star Johnson), Shane also makes for great eye candy - you"ll soon see why. Read the interview below then feast your eyes. Tell us about life after The Hustle... My life after The Hustle has changed a lot – more bookings, more opportunities, more respect. I feel like it’s an unexpected blessing. We went into the show blindly, not knowing how huge it will be; who the sponsors are etc. It’s so overwhelming have all these celebs complimenting you. The biggest change for me has been people’s reaction, asking for pictures. The people who previously didn’t believe in you now do. What’s the one thing you’ve learnt about yourself while being on The Hustle? Self-control. The fact that I can control myself despite all the attention from women. When you’re in the music industry there’s a lot of exposure; alcohol, drugs etc. Thankfully I know how to exercise control. Who do you dream of collaborating with, locally and internationally? I think about that all the time – the list is endless. Internationally I’d like to switch things up and collaborate with Tori Kelly, she’s amazing! So for the first big feature I’d like to go the opposite way. My favourite rapper is Meek Mill, so definitely a Shane Eagle ft Tori Kelly x online casino Meek Mill track. Locally, there are quite a few guys. I like K.O – he’s very humble and obviously AKA. Who is the funniest person you know? My bestfriend, Naish. He’s super funny! I even gave a shout out to him on Way Up. If I’m on tour, he’s the person to take along. What did you have for breakfast? Some Oats for protein. Single or in a relationship? In a relationship. (Sorry ladies!) Natural or weave? Natural, hands down. Who was your pin-up girl at age 16? Wow. Her name is Melissa. Top 3 songs currently on your playlist? 30 for 30 freestyle by Drake Way Up by me (he"s all smiles) Stoner by Young Thug What makes you smile? A lot of things. I think I can see through people and they tend to open up to me because of this. I also love the sound of birds chirping in the morning. What don’t we know about you? My Dad’s European and my Mom is South African. So I’m kinda like Trevor Noah – except with lyrics and bars. What’s the one thing you don’t get about women? I don’t think I’ll ever understand women completely. Women are always changing their minds. One minute this outfit, the next it’s a different one. What gets you up in the morning? My dream. I have a big vision of scooping two or three Grammy’s. I want to fill up Madison Square Gardens. Every day is an opportunity to reach that goal. Your single is really dope! What’s next for Shane Eagle? The music video for Way Up will be dropping soon, so I wont be doing any more singles in the near future to focus on pushing the music video, but you can expect a few features with bigger artists. I also have some merchandise launching; not an official clothing line just yet, but just merchandise to support Way Up. This sort of connect the fans to your music.
