Acetone and warm water

1. Cut your nails with a clipper.

2. Add acetone to one bowl, and warm water to another.

3. Place the acetone bowl inside the one containing warm water. This will make it warm.

4. Apply Petroleum Jelly on your cuticles to avoid the harmful effects of acetone on your skin.

5. Dip your nails in acetone for 45 minutes.

6. Your nails should be softer. You can now buff off the rest of the smaller pieces with your nail buffer.

After removing acrylic or gel nails, you have to take care of your natural nails. With these natural oils, you will regain their amazing and healthy appearance as well as that of your cuticles. Here are a few tips:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly.
  • Mix 3 drops of tea tree oil with coconut oil, then massage your cuticles and natural nails.
  • Lavender oil can also help to moisturise and soothe your nails. Mix it with almond oil to fight infections, too.
