Grammy Award-winning rapper Doja Cat has been making headlines for her unconventional new look - her shaved head and shaved eyebrows.
When Doja decided to shave both her hair and eyebrows off on Instagram Live in early August 2022, she shared her new look with her millions of followers.
Upon seeing this, South Africans took to social media to troll the Kiss Me More hitmaker, saying she needs to come home and have a traditional ceremony done for her assuming she was having some kind of breakdown.
In the same Instagram Live, the musician explains why she shaved her hair off, citing that she’s never enjoyed having hair.
“I feel like I was never supposed to have hair anyway. I like don’t like having hair. I never liked having hair,” she said. “I cannot tell you one time since the beginning of my life that I’ve ever been like, ‘this is cool.’ I just do not like to have hair.”

Since then, Doja has been making international news and going viral for her beauty choices, from how she does her makeup to how she accessorises her bald head, especially during womenswear spring/summer 2023 fashion weeks.
