Graduation season is upon us and while many are celebrating their hard-earned qualifications, some of our local celebs continue to inspire us by furthering their studies and proving to us that learning never stops, nor does it have an age limit.

Here’s a list of 7 celebs who’ve gone the extra mile to obtain a post-graduate qualification.

1. Zama Dube : Masters Degree in African Literature and Anthropology (WITS)

Former YFM presenter, Zama Dube - who now resides in the United States of America - completed her Master’s Degree in African Literature and Anthropology at WITS University in 2017. Now, the academic is pursuing a PhD in Cinema and Media studies at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

2. Mmabatho Montsho : Masters Degree in Screen and Script Writing

Actress and director, Mmabatho Montsho, recently celebrated her achievement of obtaining her Master’s Degree in Screen and Script Writing. In an Instagram post, she revealed that she had finished her cohort in 2019 but was unable to celebrate her graduation ceremony in 2020 due to Covid-19.

3. Candice Modiselle: Honours Degree in Dramatic Arts (WITS)

Back in 2017, actress and TV personality, Candice Modiselle, obtained her Honours Degree qualification in Dramatic Arts.

4. Ntando Kunene: Honours Degree in Curriculum Issues (WITS)

In 2017, former Miss SA, Ntando Kunene, completed her Bachelor of Education degree with Honours in Curriculum Issues at WITS University.

5. Ifani: Honours Degree in Computer Sciences and Computer Engineering (UCT)

Musician, Ifani, holds an Honours Degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Cape Town.


6. Innocentia Manchidi: Honours Degree in Applied Linguistics (UJ)

Even with her demanding tasks as the reigning Miss South Africa, Shudufhadzo Musida still managed to obtain her second qualification which is a BA Honours Degree in International Relations.
