On Wednesday, actor and filmmaker, Shona Ferguson, was laid to rest in Johannesburg. He passed away on 30 July 2021 due to Covid-19 related complications. 

The funeral service was an emotional celebration of the incredible life that he lived. Among the speakers were his children, grandchild, siblings and colleagues. His obituary was read by The Queen actor, Themba Ndaba. 

His wife and television mogul, Connie Ferguson, shared an emotional pre-recorded message to her late husband where she said that she never would have thought that she would find herself in this position today.

"Sho, I thought you and I were going to grow old together," she said. "That's what I saw for myself; that's what I saw for us. That's always been the dream. That has always been where I thought you and I were going. I never, never anticipated where we are today."
