2021 is kicking off on a high note for South African rapper Nasty C. After recently revealing the launch of his 7-part podcast series, the rapper has revealed that he would be appearing on the Ellen DeGeneres show on Friday evening.

Alongside US singer Ari Lennox, the two will be performing their collaboration, Black and White, off his 2020 album, Zulu Man With Some Power. This will be Nasty C’s second appearance on American TV. Last year he performed his socially-conscious song, They Don’t, on Late Night With Seth Meyers.

“This is my daytime American television debut and it’s so dope that it’s with The Ellen DeGeneres Show. I’m eager to share my music with a new audience and represent South Africa,” he said in a statement.

Within 4 days of its premiere, Black and White surpassed a million views and was one of YouTube’s top 3 trending videos for several days. The song is also the lead single off Rhythms of Zamunda, the compilation inspired by Coming 2 America. In anticipation of the Amazon Prime film’s release, Nasty C’s song has also been named Tune of the Week by BBC Radio 1.
