Six years ago, on a random Sunday, Mpumi Mophatlane and her husband were driving down the street and decided to walk in to see a house that was being showcased. It was love at first sight. Today, they call this five-bedroom, double-storey house in Waterkloof, Pretoria, their home.

We wanted more garden space and more rooms, and that one random Sunday that they were showcasing this house, we were driving around. I said to my husband: “Let’s have a look at this place. As I walked in, I was like, ‘This is it. This is the house’. I don’t know what it was, but I just fell in love with it.”
