The Rich Housewives franchise has expanded to South Africa and after a successful two seasons being from Johannesburg, the next city that's in the spotlight is Durban.

The first season of the Rich Housewives of Durban aired on Friday, 29 January on Showmax and it trended for hours on social media after it was released.

And while the cast’s lavish lifestyles, high fashion and friendship drama will entertain viewers, we love the fact that they are empowered women each living in their purpose. 

Let's take a look at the cast members and what they do for a living.

Sorisha Naidoo 

Sorisha Naidoo is no stranger to TV, she appeared on the small screen as a presenter for Eastern Mozaik as well as on the first season of Divas of Jozi which aired back in 2016. Sorisha is also an actress who has appeared on etv’s Scandal as well as Home Affairs. She is also a radio presenter and holds the title of Miss India SA 2002. She is married to billionaire business man, Vivian Reddy.

Ayanda Ncwane

Ayanda Ncwane is no stranger to the media, and many people know her as late gospel star Sifiso Ncwane’s widow. However, Ayanda is more than that. She owns an artist management company called Ncwane Communications and is also the president of The Africa Gospel Awards. She is also a mother of two sons.

Kgomotso Ndungane

Kgomotso Ndungane is married to former Sharks and Springbok player, Odwa Ndungane. She holds a BCom (IT) degree from the University of Pretoria and has an events, equipment hiring and floral company. She is a mom of two and has recently launched her luxury personal care brand, LeLaPa.

Nonku Williams

Nonku Williams is the founder of Ashes to Beauty Winery and also has interests in the construction industry. She is also a mother of three.

Anne-Toni Ludick Mthembu

Anne is married to events planner guru, Kgolo Mthembu. She also owns one of Durban’s luxury beauty studios, Annaesthetic, and is an event producer.

Nonkanyiso Conco

Popularly known for being former president Jacob Zuma’s baby mama and fiancé, Nonkanyiso is the 6th housewife and will only appear later in the show. She is also a businesswoman who owns her own beauty brand, Laconco Naturals
