Spring has sprung, summer is around the corner and hosting season is here. Or, maybe, you would like to try out something new next time you go out, we've got just the cocktails for you.
International botanical brewery, Fentimans, released an index with some of the most-loved cocktails around the world, with the top 36 cocktails being analysed on a number of different metrics.
They looked at the number of hashtags associated with each cocktail on both Instagram and TikTok as well as global Google Search Data to discover monthly search volume. Finally, Fentimans used a Twitter sentiment analysis tool to understand more about the positivity rating of each cocktail.
A unique score was attributed to each metric which allowed Fentimans to determine an overall score which in turn revealed, which is the most popular cocktail in the world.

This got us thinking, what are some of South Africa’s most-loved cocktails?
Spiritz - a blog dedicated to all-things South African spirits industry-has compiled a list of the most ordered cocktails in SA, and we decided to list some favourites of our own.
So, if you’re planning on hosting friends and family this summertime, here are five cocktails that are sure to be crowd favourites:
Pornstar Martini
Made with vanilla-flavored vodka, Passoã, passion fruit and lime juice.
Piña Colada
Made with rum, coconut and pineapple.
Mojito
made with white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water and mint.
Long Island Iced Tea
Made with vodka, tequila, light rum, triple sec, gin and a dash of cola.
Sangria
Made with red wine, chopped fruit and any spirit of your choice.
