Underwear and intimate wear retailer, Cotton On Body has recently announced the addition of a sex toy range and sexual wellness accessories to their products. Deemed The Self Love Range, it includes vibrators, sexual lubricants and massage oils that will be available for customers to purchase. But the range is only available in Australia at the moment as part of a 'limited edition trial' and it is not yet known if it will ever become available in South Africa.

When the clothing retailer made the announcement on Monday (8 February), South Africans were immediately intrigued by the somewhat controversial reveal.

“At this point, Cotton On Body’s Self Love range is a limited edition trial and is exclusively available online in Australia only," the fashion retailer said in a statement.

Seeing that the products in the range are displayed on the main Australian website, the company has taken the liberty to create a precautionary warning of the contents before allowing people to click on the range’s page.

Their announcement was met with mixed reactions from South Africans (who, at the time, thought the range was available in SA as well) - some people expressed that they were looking forward to checking out the range while others expressed their concern over the easy accessibility of the products to young people.

Let's take a look at some of the reactions that took place on Twitter:
