Cate Blanchett thinks the Me Too and Time’s Up movements have brought quite a bit of change. The actress believes the campaigns to end gender inequality and sexual harassment in Hollywood have a big impact and have stopped women in the industry from being "separated" from one another as much.

“I’ve noticed quite a bit of change. I think women have been separated from one another for far too long in our industry but that gap is now closing,” she told OK! Magazine. The actress doesn’t think it’s just Hollywood that has seen an impact from the campaigns.

In 2006, the Me Too movement was founded by survivor and activist Tarana Burke. In 2017, the #MeToo went viral and woke the world up to the magnitude of the problem of sexual violence. What had begun as local grassroots work had now become a global movement — seemingly overnight.
