Nicole Kidman opens up on her experiences with crippling loneliness, saying it's an 'epidemic'

The 53-year-old shared during a candid interview that despite her incredible success, holding on to emotions for roles has proven very taxing mentally and has had long-lasting effects.

Nicole says, "they say loneliness is the great killer and causes so much pain."

"And I've been lonely. It's very, very hard," she says, adding that loneliness is an epidemic.

The Big Little Lies star shares that as an actor, she is required to practice psychological descipline by using a range of her emotions and then snap back to real life.

She says she's had to learn how to shield, which can be taxing as she uses a lot of emotions, but she's had to learn how to balance that.
